Miss Eagan candidates must be between the ages of 17 and 23, but no older than 23 by July 15, 2009. Candidates must live, work, or attend school in Eagan OR have graduates from Eagan, Eastview, Burnsville, Sibley, Apple Valley, or Rosemount High Schools. Candidates attending college elsewhere still qualify. Candidates must be a legal resident or citizen and have never been married or pregnant. How much times does the royalty program require? Can I still be a candidate and/or royalty while going to school or working full time? The answer is yes! You can do everything that makes you the outstanding busy young woman you are and still be a part of the royalty program. We understand that most young women are probably both working and going to school. Events take place primarily on weeknights with each event taking about 3-4 hours in length. As royalty most of the appearances take place during the summer. If you have specific scheduling concerns, talk to the royalty director. What are the candidates judged on? We are looking for young women who want to represent the Eagan Funfest and who possess dignity, good values, and grace. This is not a beauty pageant. Candidates will participate in a one-on-one judge's interview as well as answer an on stage question at the coronation. Judges will be given a list of the judging criteria from the Minneapolis Aquatennial Queen of the Lakes program to use as a guide line to follow. What will I wear? For the coronation you will need a formal tea-length or floor length dress. Please no slits or cut outs. For interview, you will need a business suit, dress or skirt. You will receive a Miss Eagan T-shirt at check in, to be worn with jeans without holes or cutouts. Please do no purchase expensive clothing for our program, ask around and see if you can borrow something from friends and family. If you are chosen to be a part of the royal family you will be given royalty attire. What will I receive if I become a Miss Eagan First, you get the experience of a lifetime! Along with a beautiful crown and sash, crown pin, wardrobe, new friendships, self confidence, self esteem, public speaking skills, interviewing skills and priceless memories! If that's |
