The July 4th Funfest is Eagan's largest event, and you can become a valuable part of it as a volunteer! The entire event is run by a team of dedicated volunteers who continually make this one of the finest celebrations in the region thanks to their time and generosity.  

Parade

• Parade lineup crew needed to coordinate floats and units prior to start of parade.

• Parade marshals are needed along the parade route to help ensure candy is not being thrown from floats (candy must be distributed by individuals walking along side of the parade). Parade marshals also help keep the parade moving - pacing is critical!

• Parade dispersal at the end of the parade. Hand out water to parade participants. Ensure traffic flow at the end of the parade is running smoothly.

Information Booth

• Provide general information regarding the festivities.

VIP

• Seating hosts are needed to ensure that our VIP guests are comfortable and also help keep general public out of VIP area.

Traffic and Parking

• Traffic flaggers for cars leaving the Eagan Community Center during parade.

• Parking flaggers before the parade and during Funfest event.

Judging

• Judge hosts are needed in the parade judging booth to answer questions. Judge hosts tally scores following parade.

• Judges are needed to score parade floats and units based on several different categories.

Entertainment Hosts

• Announce stage entertainment and ensure stage timing is running smoothly.

• Sound & Lighting

• Assist with sound and lighting for band stage.
